Annie and James met in 2010 at a speed dating session at a bar in Central London. Annie was about to go to Melbourne for a year, so the first 12 months of their relationship was long distance.
The Proposal
Annie and James got engaged in Sri Lanka in August 2013. They spent four weeks travelling around the island, and on their second to last night had an amazing candlelit meal on the beach. Although James had planned to propose whilst they were away, he'd had a hectic few weeks beforehand so hadn't had the opportunity to ask Annie's dad's permission or buy a ring, but in the amazing setting decide to propose anyway. They kept their engagement secret until they landed back in the UK. James phoned Annie dad from the airport and then took Annie straight to a jewellers to pick a ring.
The Hen and Stag Parties
Annie has a surprise hen do in Bath, where she stayed with her hens in a large house and spent the day at The Makery, where they made personalised bunting to use on the wedding day. As it was the weekend of the Oscars her bridesmaids organised a 'Red Carpet Fashion Disaster' fancy dress party.
James and his stags went to Newcastle for the weekend, which involved a trip to A&E due to an incident playing bubble football.
The Wedding Theme, Styling and Details
As their wedding was held on Easter Saturday the theme was spring and wild flowers, and as Annie and James didn't want just one colour they used a range of bright colours. Two of the ushers brewed beer for the welcome drinks, and Annie's mum made 40m of bunting to decorate the hall. Annie and James designed and created their table plan themselves, which was based on different places they'd travelled to.
The Bride and Groom's Outfits
Annie chose a Lusan Mandongus dress. She particularly loved the back as it was different from every other dress she'd tried on, and the dress was very comfortable and easy to move in. She wore her bridal dress with a veil she borrowed from her sister, and silver Kurt Geiger shoes which matched the vintage brooch on her dress.James wore a Paul Smith suit he'd bought in the January sales, which he had tailored to him."He said it was the best suit he's ever worn and now may have a bit of a Paul Smith addiction."

The Bridal Party
Annie had six bridesmaids who all wore floral dresses from Warehouse, to fit in with the spring theme, and one flower girl who wore a dress from Monsoon. The groomsmen all wore their won suits, with matching ties from Debenhams.
The Wedding Transport
Annie travelled to the ceremony with her father in a black cab, decorated in silver ribbon, which also took Annie and James to the reception after."I contacted the local taxi rank to hire it and they offered to add a ribbon; it was a lovely touch."

The Wedding Flowers
The bouquets, buttonholes and pew ends were all arranged by Rose and Wolf. Annie and James didn't request specific flowers, they just asked the florist to select flowers in season which would match the bridesmaid dresses. The table flowers for the reception were arranged in a selection of jars by Annie's sister.
The Wedding Ceremony and Reception
Annie and James had a civil ceremony at Winchester House, which is on the banks of the River Thames in Putney. Two of their friends did readings - A Lovely Love Story by Edward Monkton, and a letter Robert Browning wrote to his wife Elizabeth on the morning of their wedding. Annie walked down the aisle to 'One Day Like This' by Elbow, and Annie and James left the ceremony to 'Heartbeat Song' by The Futureheads.The wedding reception was held at Avenue Halls in Kew, which Annie and James chose because they had free reign over what they wanted to do (and there was no corkage!). They enjoyed a sit down hog roast, and guests brought homemade cakes for a 'Bake Off' dessert. As there was no corkage Annie and James bought all their wine from Majestic in Calais, which saved them a lot of money.

The Wedding Cake
Annie's sister made a naked wedding cake consisting of three tiers of carrot, vanilla and lemon drizzle cake.
The First Dance
It took Annie and James a while to decide on their first dance song, but they eventually chose 'Shake it Out' by Florence and the Machine."We both don't really like being the centre of attention so we were very keen for others to join us on the dance floor as soon as possible."
The Wedding Photographer
Annie and James chose Terry Li Photography as their wedding photographer. They loved how the photos were so natural and that she captured a lot of special moments."She was very unobtrusive - we hardly noticed she was there."
The Honeymoon
Annie and James went to Valencia for three nights, and will be travelling around Indonesia for four weeks in August.
Memories
Annie: "Travelling from the ceremony to the reception in the car and having a moment to talk on our own, and dancing with our friends in the evening."
James: "Seeing Annie coming down the aisle, and celebratory Jägerbombs in the evening."
